Treasures from another Place and Time

This fourth of July started off with the estate sale gods smiling upon us. We made a little trip to the close by town of Clairemont to check out the last day of the sale. The posting was vague, and we just took our chances. From the above photos you can see it was a success! The daughter of a 97 year woman was in charge of the estate. I immediately found some goodies and began to make a pile in hopes that my damage in the end would equal my cash on hand, $20. The top photo features some lovely bone china teacup saucers, and below are some wonderful trays, one wooden one tin, a bronze lipstick holder, a pink glass hand, and two tapestry images in frames. This is just a portion of my finds. In addition I also scored a beautiful afghan, a embroidered baby blanket, a stack of vintage tea towels, vintage wrapping paper, and two silk pillows. I was absolutely pleased that she allowed me to have all of these treasures for a mere $20. I often encounter people like this who see the enthusiasm that I have for the items, for its history, and they are happy that it is going to a good home.
